Google+ Shows Total View Count Of Your Profile and Content

Google+ Shows Total View Count Of Your Profile and Content

  • Ever wonder how many times your shared Google+ content has been seen? Starting today you’ll see a new number on your Google+ profile or page: total content views

  • When you look at your profile, you can see your total number of views. That means you can tell how many times your content has been seen by other people, including your photos, posts, and profile page.
When you look at someone else’s profile or page, you can also see their total number of views
Here’s how it looks for 1 of my account pages. Roughly 12 million. If I was actually able to focus on my own profile that number may be 100 million.

So the total sum my profile page and posts have been viewed since Oct 2012 is now visible to all who choose to notice.

Google didn't even make a noteworthy announcement about the update. On the help page they say “you now can tell how many times your content has been seen by other people, including your photos, posts, and profile page.” The page also notes that view counts “may not be exact, and they may not be updated in real time.”

Prior to this update Google+ analytics were somewhat limited having the “Ripples,” which display how a post is shared in the network.

Google+ is the future of search. (UPDATE)

Google+ is the future of search. (UPDATE)

Justin Matthew
JMHHACKER

*denotes added content from original

*Originally written in March looking pretty good!

If you aren’t on Google+, YOU WILL BE IRRELEVANT
If you've been sitting on the sidelines waiting for Google+ to go away, forget it.

No serious marketer can afford to ignore Google Plus and authorship.

*Not bad viral traffic 47 million results that article has over 9800 views.

*Here is the embedded gplus post of the article Now did I just embed the post to show you?

*Maybe I did it because like profile links, Google+ also allows you to insert followed links directly into your posts – as many as you want. Simply insert the full URL and Google will automatically format it as a link.

*The value of these links increases the number of times the post is shared, linked to and +1’ed.

If your post goes viral the value of those links increases.

 Link to Your Content

Google lets you link to other profiles, public pages, and websites you contribute to.

Link Your Content to Google

Google explains how to add author information in search results.
You have three options for linking content to your Google+ profile. You can:

  • Use a verified email address.

  • Create a link from your webpage.

  • Take the easy way out – use a plugin

Guest blogger tip: When you guest blog, make sure that you give the host blog the proper HTML with a link to your Google+ profile and rel="author" in the link. If the blog doesn’t add the markup, you don’t get the credit. Remember to complete the circuit by adding a link to the guest blog post itself in your “Contributor to” links.

If you don't want your authorship information to appear in search results, edit your profile. Under Setting, uncheck the profile discovery option “Help others discover my profile in search results”.

*I have to say having a good author rank certainly helped out this post shown here in all these results. Sure results vary based on showing private results but not much on this bad boy!

*Here hiding private results! This one hit all the right buttons and I was rewarded with great organic search for many keywords and nearly 10,000 views.

Benefits of authorship:

google-author-rank
  • Personal branding:
  •
  • The key benefit for an author is visibility within the SERPs, which helps with branding. Someone that frequently focuses on a topic will appear in multiple searches related to that topic. This builds brand awareness, familiarity, credibility, and trust.

  • Increased CTR (CLICK THROUGH RATE) on search results: Ranking number one isn’t what it used to be. Profile images now play a significant role in determining CTR.
  • Oh how true this is!

.

Authorship: The First Step Toward Building Author Rank

SHOWS HOW THE POST SPREAD USING RIPPLES FEATURE

Authorship is the first step

The goal is to have content written by authoritative authors’ rank better than content that is written by less authoritative authors.

Advantages of building author rank:

  • Authors now get recognition and credit for being an authority. Author Rank builds this authority with every piece of content you create.  In the past, creating great content was a benefit for the website or blog that it was published on –  With authorship, you as an individual author will also benefit.

Track Your Posts With Ripples

Ripples shows you who is sharing and re-sharing your posts most often.

Ripples show sharing interaction data for your posts over time. This makes it easy to follow key influencers and learn what content your audience loves!

Ripples provides a visual guide to who has publicly shared a post or URL and the comments they’ve made.

There is no excuse for getting left behind.

I would say this was pretty spot on 8 months ago!

Understanding Traffic Sources Using Google Analytics

Understanding Traffic Sources Using Google Analytics

 Justin Matthew

You don’t have to be a born statistician or a mathematician to understand the importance of Google Analytics. Many of us install the code snippet into our websites at the suggestion of others, but don’t really know what we’re looking at, why we’re looking at it, or the importance of the figures in front of us.
Here are 5 posts from This blog and page views

Today, I want to bring up a key point about your traffic sources and how important the information actually is. It extends beyond just daily unique visits. If you look at your website figures close enough, you can almost hear Google whispering advice on how to get higher quality traffic. No, really.

Traffic Sources

Your traffic sources may be the best way to determine the effectiveness of your campaigns. Even better, the numbers will give you some insight as to where you should allocate most of your efforts. Here’s a quick screenshot of the traffic sources for one
of my many blogs.

The experienced users will be able to see some good and bad things about the numbers above. Note the rows I’ve highlighted.
If all I cared about were visits, then you would probably tell me to focus all my efforts on Pinterest, and it makes sense.

Pinterest is responsible for bringing 9,009 people to my website, but there’s more to the picture here. Take a look at the bounce rate from my Pinterest referrals. It’s currently sitting at 93.33%.

Bounce Rate - Represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site. --Wikipedia
Suddenly Pinterest isn’t looking so hot, and it could be for various reasons.

My site contains lengthy articles, and that’s basically it. Pinterest users are primarily concerned with visually stimulating imagery, so when they click a link to my website and find out they’ve just crash-landed on a 1,200 word article, they back out. You can tell most of them back out quickly, too. Average visit duration is low at only 25 seconds. This is Google’s way of telling me to focus my attention elsewhere.

Now, this doesn’t mean Pinterest users hate reading. It just means they would rather pin images, instead. I don’t take offense to that.
Here’s another example from the traffic sources chart: I frequently share my articles on Google Plus, and it seems to be an effective strategy. Although it’s not in the same atmosphere as Pinterest in terms of the volume it’s generated for me (155 visits versus 9,009 visits), it’s higher quality traffic for my purposes. Let me explain.
For my Google+ shares, the bounce rate is hovering around average at 54.19%, much improved over the 93.33% I was getting from Pinterest. The average visit duration is also much higher at 3 minutes and 49 seconds, over 9 times greater than what I was receiving from my Pinterest clicks. Even better, 61.94% of the users are new visits.

You always want new visits, and Pinterest was showing 98.12% under new visits, but the lower percentage means that I’m actually getting some return visits from Google Plus. Return visits are a good thing. That means people like the content!
More on Google Analytics in future write-ups. Don’t forget to look at your traffic sources!

Google Plus For Business

                              Google Plus for Business

Over 6200 Plusses on business page
JUSTIN MATTHEW 5/11/13

Google Plus for business is a necessary process if you want to get noticed. It is all about getting your business page noticed and having others add you to their profile feeds. The business benefits can be rewarding and I have been trying to 2 years now to explain why. I will keep it short.

Visit Google Plus Pages here and click on the relevant box, choose the category that best suits your organization, you can choose between Local Business or Place / Product or Brand / Company, Organization, or Institution / Art, Entertainment, and Sports / or Other.

Business Page rank 6000 worldwide.

Create your Google+ page and this is your brand page, Add company name a little about what you do etc. When you enter your company details in the about section add as many links as possible that relate to your business.

Personal Profile 32,720 followers ranked 576 in USA.
Each post I make averages 71 plusses 15 shares and 10 comments 96 engagements

Made the most popular people on Google Plus

 .
You can have the best-looking Google Plus Business Page but you need to engage. For example I did a circle share earlier tonight for just that reason (see Photo here)  This is where ‘effectiveness’ comes into play that will increase people following you and then you will see shares and Google+ 1’s coming in.

One of my favorite features of circlecount.com is user Euro Maestro's who's who on Google Plus it does not measure by followers but by engagement so any one can make it! Out of the 100 million profiles he does the top 5k I ranked in at 3106 this month.

Make sure your profile is fully filled out. Spend the time even hours id required people judge you on this and you never know what clients this may bring you.

Personally I have been able to start a very successful social media corporation that is thriving due to a large part of Google plus.

Monopolize Social Media Make sure you upload a professional image, add a cover photo and one profile photo that you feel great about..

Your profile photo will be the one seen when you post on other Google+ content so make it a good one!

Well now what?? Oh you have to put effort in so I guess that eliminates most people right here :)  This is where you need to engage with content, and make consistent posts.

The recent tips I provide speak for themselves right here in my growth.
Another thing to remember is hash tagging, we all do it for
Twitter and Instagram etc and it is a good idea to use this on Google+ for example in my circle share which is a tactic we
use to gain followers and it can become a weekly post as
well IT CREATES MASSIVE ENGAGEMENT!
Like this post I made a few days ago

1637 plus 1's 332 shares 216 comments.
ALWAYS remember to talk about your products/brands etc,
but also throw in other content as well so it is not just me me me.

Photo posts, Asking questions Oh and of course posting blog articles like this one :)Look just get going already it is not to late you will wish you did believe me I have over 40 business pages myself.

Start your Google Plus business page right now and follow the above, please do remember to add us by visiting our Google+ page.
