SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is very important when it comes to getting your blog/website ranked higher in search engines.

This is very helpful when you want your blog to receive more targeted traffic. I have gathered a list of my top 8 FREE tools and services for SEO to help you out with your blog/website.

This tool is free and very useful for bloggers because it allows you to enter a search term for your URL and it will show if you rank in the top 50 in search results. You can choose from different search engines such as Google, MSN/Bing, and Yahoo. It is free to use but users with a free membership are limited to 5 rank searches.

This tool allows you to measure the strength of pages, blogs, and entire domains based on factors to popularity, influence and ranking ability. You will receive a % score and can compare your site/blog to others in the same type of category. You can also go further into detail and check the stats of each service. This will give you an idea on where you need to improve with your website or blog and where you still need to submit to for better results.

One of my favorite websites that I use for checking stats on URLs. All you do is enter your url and click “Check Domain”, and the results will be displayed. You can also choose to have an e-mail sent whenever your stats change.

Social Media Rookie Sayings.

Social Media Rookie Sayings.

3 years ago I would have said you couldn't pay me to get a Facebook or a twitter.

As time went on everything I did everywhere I went was social media and one thing I noticed is not to many people really understand how it works I mean REALLY get it.

So I finally accepted Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ Twitter, LinkedIn are all here to stay.

Now the networks may constantly change like my space aol etc. We are still in the infancy of this industry 10 yrs from now we may have 20 different networks then today.

I will TELL you this though social media,  and technology in general are not even on training wheels yet.

I remember my first 3 months online  to the first day you tweeted or joined Facebook. I joined Facebook in 2011 when I managed Householdhacker ON YT.

The only reason I did was because I had to keep up with general internet news.

I remember thinking how silly and awkward it was to have family, friends, neighbors, girlfriends, coworkers etc all in the same place.

About 3 days in I made the decision if I was going to be on the computer I would be very very low key. 3 years ltr IT IS ASTOUNDING how open we ll are whether we realize it or not.

Now we share our life EVERYWHERE.

For me learning all the proper terms was strange. I literally just jumped in made statements that no one knew what they meant.

I thought if I made more then 2 posts on Fb that was way to many and decided I would just dive in head first.

Yes, we do social media for business. I know this though once in awhile ya’ have to laugh a little or even a lot.

I made a list of about 76 things I hear newbs or inexperienced social media managers in the making say here are the ones I thought were best. Do you have  favorite?

 Facebook is only for kids.

I don’t have time. I’m too busy selling.

None of my clients have a FB

I have a Google+ but nobody talks to me.
Those followers we bought don't really talk much..

My website is sick! We just added a twitter button.

.A hashtag?.

Why does everyone tweet what they ate for lunch and what is  with all the cats?

What do you mean FB PM me later I’ll call you at 4:00 pm et.

Did I just tweet?

You can’t post that word!

Can we get arrested for posting that?

Ok cool chatting ttyl. Seriously, just call me. or I will call you

I just read this article saying no one is doing this idea of ordering FB posts already made for us!

Why do you I look so tired?
.

 I got a retweet bro I got a retweet!

Social Media is for people who don’t have a life.

 What’s my password?

I think I’ll go back to Facebook

What if my competitors see what we say?

I just found out my best customer is on Twitter and has something called LinkedIn

I’ll just send all my tweets to Facebook & Facebook posts to tweets and will be all set!
.

Make sure to say social media expert after my name

How much do I pay for a  verified badge?

Oh I thought that egg meant I was just new and later it would change

I need to use my real face? Why would I do that?

Facebook, nobody is on Facebook anymore.

Facebook is AWESOME

. Google+ huh Circle share what the hell are you talking bout.
.

Be careful out there on that internet.

I heard there are ripoff scammers.

Blogging?

Let my sales reps on social? Are you kidding?

My sales reps don’t have time for social. They are too bust getting leads.
.

We can’t let people comment on our blog. What if someone says something bad?

 Call to action? What action?

We are def social media experts. We have a Twitter and Facebook account we check weekly.

I have 92 twitter followers I am bad ass at this

I got 5 Facebook likes on that post this is gonna be easy

I seriously think Facebook might save our business this year!

You mean it's not just about getting Facebook likes?

Will you plllleeeaaase retweet this?

Did I miss anything that you said or hear a lot?

58 Things Social Media Newbies Say & Maybe You Said Too!? image iStock 000016170219XSmallThere comes a time in life when you must acknowledge social media, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn are all here to stay. Yes, the social network platforms may change. Facebook will eventually become the Myspace of yesterday. However, one thing is certain, social media, mobile phones, iPad evolution and technology in general is not going away.

At one point in time we all still are, were or will be newbies at something. It’s funny to think back to the first day you tweeted or joined Facebook. I joined Facebook in 2006 when I worked at Sun Microsystems. We were required to get on Facebook in support of an internal big marketing conference. I remember thinking how awkward it was to be so transaparent and have everyone from family, friends, neighbors, girlfriends, past boyfriends, teachers, boss and hubby all in one place! Yowza!

My how things have changed. Now we share our life, our ups and downs in 140 characters on Twitter, in pictures on Pinterest, on blog posts like this and of course on Facebook.

Learning all the bits, bytes, lingo and lango is not always easy. The best thing to do is ask the questions you have, answer the ones you know and have fun. Yes, we do social media for business. However, once in awhile ya’ have to laugh a little or even a lot.

Below are some quotes I have heard many newbies say including some folks close to me in life and business. I hope you can have some fun with this and add your own. We’re working on a video to incorporate some of them with a couple clients. If your suggestion makes it in the video, we’ll give you credit for it in the video and accompanied description!

Note: By no means is this post meant to make fun of social newbies. We love newbies around these parts. We were all a newbie at some point and will be a newbie tomorrow when the next new shiny bright object launches!

Going Viral On Social Media

                     Going Viral On Social Media

OK it seems I may know what I am talking about as the people I have specifically trained are the exact people I see going viral on social media just like I showed them. That being said when I have time for my own networks I still like to see if I can do it. I like a challenge.

I have my custom url's on lock down do you? Luckily I received about 34 due to how many business pages I have.
Those plus1's can add up fast!

As you can imagine not using a network for 1 month and then deciding to wake up and say today I will make a viral post is not exactly easy.

I will show you how I did just that.

I have been preaching Google+ for 3 years now anyone that knows me knows that. I wrote a book on circle shares etc 2 years ago when I was apparently the only one doing it because I was making 2,000 a week on that service alone for months.

Well guess what nothing has changed if you are willing to put in 2 hrs of time you to can make your circle share GO VIRAL.

Below you see my recent post it is still jamming as I type who knows it may get double what it has now. Oh and yes I am writing this and embedding it in this article for a reason MORE TRAFFIC.

BY THE WAY TO TAKE PART AND BE IN THE NEXT SHARE PLUS SHARE AND COMMENT I WILL ADD YOU then enjoy the ride! CIRCLE SHARE

OK below you see what is currently HOT on google+ via circlecount as you can see as I write this my post is number 1 they factor in plusses shares and comments.

OK what do we have here?

This would be the hashtag circlesharing on twitter because when I posted the circle share I also tweeted it and used the 3 relevant tags I wanted.

As you see here also number 1 for #GPLUS

Also number 1 photo for #gplus on twitter

BY THE WAY TO TAKE PART AND BE IN THE NEXT SHARE PLUS SHARE AND COMMENT I WILL ADD YOU then enjoy the ride! CIRCLE SHARE

OH WAIT 1 MORE #CIRCLESHARING
OK here we have it a tweet with the link and the hashtags....but wait!!! See what I did here?

Did you know people are 3 times more likely to finish reading something if they see BASED ON TRUE EVENTS or TRUE STORY?

Well think about it when you see a scary flick I know I certainly pay more attention or it just gives me more excitement...who knows why but it is true.

So why not give it a shot on a tweet?? Well it worked and well!

1 more here to seal the deal!
Now look at the latest headlines....

SO LOOK AT THAT GOOGLE+ born what 4 years after FB is already 2nd place...SEE YA Twitter bye Linkedin  and 19 Chinese companies.

So you tell me based on the trend Google sheer power of web search and email ya think maybe they catch up?

To me it has never been a question look up my post Guide to Google+ written 2 years ago. This is a fact and it won't even be close. In 3 or 4 years google plus will have CRUSHED Facebook. Look you can't reign forever right MySpace?

I then shared my post to my tumblr accounts where they picked up a few more people. You see when you have viable other networks why not use them to give yourself the best shot when you are posting something important?

You could have called this one of course I pinned it. I have to say not bad 19 repins perhaps that got my post another 20 people? All I know is each and every effort I made increased my chances and here I have a circle share passing 200 re shares on its way to 300.

BY THE WAY TO TAKE PART AND BE IN THE NEXT SHARE PLUS SHARE AND COMMENT I WILL ADD YOU then enjoy the ride! CIRCLE SHARE

Now why do all this?? Well number 1 I actually enjoy it number 2 it is my job I represent clients in ALL industries but 1 thing they have in common is they all want more Google juice right? We all know about author rank as well.

So the circle share is a great way to increase your overall following on a GREAT social network, Now here is a bonus before I started my real company and I was making a fortune on fiverr I was actually growing my very own networks at the same time but when I stopped cold turkey my accounts still grew on their own!

I had made so many #snowballcircleshares that it carried on without me. I hardly touched my personal account for 9 months yet it still would gain 30 to 80 people a day. SO get out there and BE ORIGINAL make yourself a circle you OWN and take care of it and I will tell you what it will pay you back in more ways then one.
